FIVE MEN INJURED

BUS LEAVES ROADWAY ACCIDENT SUNDAY NIGHT INCIDENT NEAR WAITAKARURU When one of Messrs W. White and ■Sons Ltd’s, buses travelling to Auckland from Thames on Saturday night left the road about 100 yards- past Bathurst’s Store, Waitakaruru, five men were injured and are now inmates of the Thames Hospital. They are:— Williami Browne, aged 27 years, head and chest injuries, coach for an Otahuhu Football Club team which was travelling on the bus. Alan Martin, aged 18 years, shock and slight concussion; a member of the Otahuhu Football Club team.. Terence Martin, aged’ 24 years, slight concussion. A member of the Otahuhu Football Club team. Ernest Carter, aged 17, chest bruised and 1 slight concussion; a member of the Otahuhu Football Club team. Noel Strong, aged 18, of the R.N.Z.A.F.; bruised head and slight concussion. The accident occurred at about 7.30 p.m. as a result of the driver of the bhs being dazzled by approaching headlights as he was attempting to dodge a h'orse on the road. The bus fell- some 10 feet from the road, landing on its side.
