WHENUAKITE PARTY

CHILDREN ENTERTAINED ENJOYABLE EVENING The children of Whenuakite had a marvellous time when Santa Claus paid a visit to them. The Christmas tree, laden with presents and gaily decorated, was much admired and a delight to the kiddies who were in the folio-wing fancy costumes:—Cowboys (twins), 80-Peep, Pirates, Fairies, Red Riding Hood, Dick Whittington and others were all there. A little girl of about five years won the prize as a “Swagger.” Dorothy and Esther Lee won the Monte Carlo. A bag of sweets and a bottle of drink was given to each child. A marvellous sit-down supper was provided. The adults danced later in the evening, the Whenuakite band supplying the music.
