IMPROVEMENT WORK
WHANGAMATA CEMETERY £lO ALLOTMENT FOR THE JOB Recommendations from the trustees concerning the Whangamata Cemetery were approved by the Thames County Council at its November meeting and it was decided to allocate up to £lO for expenditure by trustees on the cemetery. The recommendations were:—
That the present site be consideredadequate, and that it was not considered necessary at present that any further area of land be acquired. That no further burials be permitted to take place within the present fenced-in portion, except in cases of near relatives already interred there-
-That the whole site be fenced in and be made generally suitable as a ■burial ground. That a small area be set aside for servicemen who have been on active service.
