HAVE YOU EVER TRIED THIS?
Silk stockings past wearing make good shoulder pads for home dressmakers. Fold each stocking as when putting away after darning, leaving the 'top part unfolded, tack through the pad, and then -tack on to shoulders and sleeve-seam of frock or coat. These pads are delightfully soft and just the right thickness. If after a few weeks’ wear light kid shoes 'begin to stain rub them with a piece of cut lemon from which nearly all the juice has been squeezed. Dry thoroughly with a clean cloth, leave for an hour, then polish with white shoe-cream.
