Tin Recovery
A new flotation process for the recovery of tin has been developed by the Australian Council of Scientific and Industrial Research. Investigations were begun after the Japanese had captured the sources of supply in the East, and the result is a method by which much of the tin at present discarded can be separated from “tailings” or waste. Dumps from previous mining operations in Australia can be treated, and laboratory tests have recovered a high proportion from ores formerly difficult to treat.
