SOLDIER HELPED
AID AT MANGATARATA
GIFTS FROM THE SETTLERS At the fortnightly social of the Mangatarata Social Club held last Friday night, Mr M. Leonard reported that the first step had been taken in fulfilling the wishes of the club, to help returning soldiers from overseas in a material manner. It was the committee’s pleasure, said Mr Leonard, to present Mr Cyril O’Brien who served in the Middle East, but who has now returned to civil life, and has taken up sheep farming with £lO. A collection was also taken up when money was donted for the purpose of buying a saddle. Two dogs have also been presented to Cyril.
