“These Little Pigs”
A litter of 22 pigs born last week on a Pokeno farm was the second large litter sired by a young imported Berkshire boar. The mother of last week’s litter was bred by the Drury Pig Club. Besides their strong breeding qualities, Berkshire*, which are black, have won a number of bacon championships at Smithfield, London. Apart from two litters of over 20, the father of these large big families has sired several of 16 and 18.
