GOOD WORK
ATTACK ON JAP. STRONGPOINT “CLEANED UP WHOLE OUTFIT” air Alec Courie, in addressing a social gathering in honour of Hawarden district soldiers, referred to news that had been received from the Solomons, of the fine work that had been done by Private Gywnne Lawrence, a son of Mr J. AV. K. Lawrence. On his own initiative Private Lawrence had successfully attacked a Japanese strongpoint that was holding up the advance of the New Zealand, and American troops. Although the nest was in jungle country private Lawrence “cleaned up the whole outfit.” said Mr Courie.
