“THE MERRY WIDOW ” NEW ZEALAND GIRL IN PLAY The most spectacular production in Italy so far is Lehar's operetta, “The Merry Widow,” now in Bari. The cast is headed by the London favourites, Cyril Ritchard and Madge Elliott, and has been partly recruited locally, and includes two New Zealand W.A.A.C.’s, Christine Farrer (Hamilton) and Pat Thomas (Masterton).
