VALLEY POWER BOARD THAMES AND TE AROHA UP FIGURES FOR PAST FIVE WEEKS “For the five weeks ending March 26, 1944, the units purchased by the board were less than for the corresponding weeks of last year by an average of 11.96 per cent., or 145,984 units per week,” reported the chief engineer, Mr N. G. McLeod, to Tuesday’s meeting of the Thames Valley Electric Power Board. The report added: — “For the last of those five weeks the decrease was 8.03 per cent. For the quarter, up to March 26, the system demand was higher than* for the March quarter last yeai’ by 464 kva., due to the cold snap. “Thames borough units for the same five weeks were higher than last year’s by an average of 6.07 per cent, and Te Aroha borough units higher by 2.17 per cent. Both were affected by the cold snap.”
