FRUIT STORAGE
US OF ETHYLENE GAS AMERICAN EXPERIMENTS American experiments in the chemical absorption of the small, quantities of ethylene gas that, are given off by ripe apples are expected to lead to considerable advances in the technique of fruit storage. This gas has the effect of speeding up the ripening of hard apples held in the same storage space as the riper fruit.
