Mr J. W. Neate, of Ngatea, has been appointed a member of the reconstituted No. 4 Hamilton Armed Forces Appeal Board. Trooper J. Middleton, Kerepeehi, who is home on furlough from the Middle East, is visiting Rotorua. \Mr F. Bartley, Hauraki Hotel, Keffepeehi, is spending a fortnight’s holiday in Auckland. Constable P. Gilmour of Devonport and Mr Law of Whakatane, were recent guests of Mr and Mr» J. E. Bartley, Hotel Ngatea. Mr W. Gooding and Mr J. Ehlers, of Auckland, were visitors to Ngatea for Easter week-end. Major N. B. Gatchell, of the U.S.A. Forces spent Easter week-end with Mr and Mrs P. Mudford, of Awaiti. ' Master Bruce Fox of Wesley College, Paerata, spent the Easter vacation with his parents, Mr and Mrs C. K. Fox, of Turua. Mr W. J. Turnpenny, the newlyappointed District Public Trustee for Te Aroha, vice Mr Bamfield, transferred to Distinct Public Trustee, New Plymouth, has arrived in Te Aroha to take up his duties. Mr Turnpenny for the last three years was secretary and Crown representative of the Armed Forces Appeal Board, Napier, prior to which he was Assistant District Public Trustee, Napier, for several years. As a young man he was engaged in the legal profession and -is a fully qualified solicitor of the Supreme CourtHe is a returned soldier, having had lengthy service in the last war from which he was invalided.
