TAXI TRIP TO THE RACES THREE MEN BEFORE COURT Three men who hired a taxi to take them from ißurton-on-Trent to Doncaster races were fined £l2OO, with £3l 10'S costs. From Burton-on-Trent to Doncaster is 46 milds. It was alleged that the taxi went hack to Burton and returned to Doncaster three days later to take them home. All pleaded' guilty, j Arthur Edward Morris, 38, a master cooper, was fined £600; John Wragg, 40, a J.P., £400; Henry Newton, 65, £2OO. The garage proprietor who let tliem have the car said he did not know he was breaking the law to use it for race-going.
