DEMAND FOR DAIRY CATTLE VALUES AT MORRINSVILLE The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Company Limited reports that at the Morrinsville stock sale on Friday a small entry of fat sheep, comprising mostly of hoggets, for which late rates were maintained, came forward. A small entry of beef was keenly sought, and realised full late values. Another good entry of boner cattle also sold freely. A large number of yearling Jersey heifers eased somewhat in value, while empty two-year heifers sold freely at firmer rates. An entry of two-year-old Polled Angus and Hereford steers attracted attention, but competition was not quite as keen as at previous sales. Speyed and in-calf Polled Angus cows changed hands at satisfactory rates. An exceptionally keen demand existed for a smaller entry of dairy cattle, all classes selling at advanced rates. ■ , There was a good penning of all classes of pigs with competition steady and values on a par with last week’s rates.
