PADDY’S MARKET
KEREPEEHI GUILD FUNCTION
VERY SUCCESSFUL AFTERNOON
On Thursday, September 24, the Kerepeehi Anglican Ladies’ Guild held their annual Paddy’s Market which proved a great success. Although the weather was not favourable it did not hinder the people from attending. ,
The vicar, Rev. ■ Dobson, welcomed all those present and spoke highly of the work done by the guild ladies who spent endless time sewing and preparing for this function under difficulties of the rationing. A stall containing hand-made dolls’ clothes, toys such as elephants, lambs, Donald Ducks, roosters, dogs, squirrels and knitted balls, attract-
ed the attention of the children, many of whom had been saving their pennies weekly for the occasion. Ladies in charge of each stall were: Mrs E. Booth (secretary), Mrs J. Redwood (president) and Mrs E. Kidd, needlework; Mrs W. Roberts, cakes and produce; Mrs A. Innis, children’s section; Mrs W. Thomson and Mrs I. Hooper, afternoon tea; Mrs R. L. Davies, competitions.
