PAEROA DISTRICT HIGH
MOTOR MOWER TO BE BOUGHT
The monthly meeting of the Paeroa District High School Committee was held in the Primary School on Monday night, the chairman, Mr C. C. Webb, presiding. Others present were Mrs S. Wheeler and Messrs F. Thorp, S. Wheeler, R. L. Darley, the treasurer, Mr J .Walmsley, the secretary, Mr W. Aston, and the headmaster, Mr A. E. Day. Apologies 1 for absence were received from Messrs W. Morrison and H. Follas. After some discussion regarding ways and means it was decided to purchase a motor-mower for the .mowing of the grass at the High School. Mr Thorp was appointed to instruct the children in the use of same.
The Auckland Education Board wrote granting the committee’s request for £25 for the levelling of the playing area at the High School. A grant of £l's for the erection of additional bicycle shelters was received from the Auckland Education Board.
Accounts totalling £l5 10s 7d were passed for payment. The headmaster reported as under :—
“The medical officer is at present visiting the school and will be present for another few days. “The architect has agreed’to replace some 80 old desks in instalments.”
