CARRIED TWINS SIX MILES SETTLER’S WIFE ON PLAINS That the modern woman is not lacking in that stamina which characterised an older generation of women was revealed by a witness giving evidence before the No>. 1 Licensing Authority at Thames' on Wednesday, in support of an application for a bus service from Waitakaruru via Miranda to the turnoff, a distance of about 20 miles.
He said that a settler’s wife carried her twins six miles to join the bus on the main route.
