12,720 CONSUMERS
VALLEY POWER BOARD RANGES & WATERHEATERS STEADY DECLINE REPORTED “The total number of consumers connected to the hoard’s mains is 12,720. Thames and Te Aroha Boroughs are included in this total and number 1212 and 842 respeetviely. Thirty-six water heaters, 19 ranges, nine motors on farms, of which three were milking motors, also eight industrial motors, were connected during the past two months,” reported the manager, Mr R. Sprague, to the monthly meeting of the Thames Valley Electric Power Board.
The report added: — “There are now connected and Operating 3401 ranges, 6211 waterheaters, 956 industrial motors and 7101 motors on farms, of which 3470 are milking motors.
“A steady decline in the connections as affecting ranges and waterheaters has been operating for some months :past and with the prohibition of manufacture of these appliances, connections in the near future under these headings, will be eliminated for the duration of the war.”
