OBITUARY
MRS SAMUEL MAY
EARLY COROMANDEL RESIDENT
The death has occurred in Hamilton of Mrs Hannah Rhoda May, wife of Mr Samuel May. Born at Thames in 1870, Mrs May was the daughter of Mr John Swetman, prominently identified, with the Thames and Coromandel goldfields in the early days. Later the family engaged in farming at Bombay. In 1893 she married Mr May at Auckland, but for the last 27 years Mr and Mrs May and their family had resided in the Waikato. Mrs May is survived by her husband and a family of eight, -comprising Messrs Alexander May (Cambridge) and Donald May (Auckland), Mrs W. Woodcock i(Auckland)', and Misses Grace, Daphne, Dorothy, Maud and Violet May, of Hamilton.
