NO SECOND CHANCE

ADDRESS SUNDAY NIGHT

A THOUSAND YEARS OF PEACE “After the War a Thousand Years of Peace,” was the subject of the address given (by Mr A. Parker in the Regent Hall, Paeroa, on Sunday night. In opening his address Mr Parker made reference to the mny theories surrounding the millennial period which he said were without foundation in scripture. The millennium is a period of time which commences with the second coming of Christ. Inuring this time the devil will find himself out of work, having no man on whom to work his devices. For Christ at His coming claims His people and takes them to live and reign with Him. “But they shall be priests of God and of Christ and shall reign with Him a thousand years.” Those that know not God are smitten with the brightness of His coming, “And He shall smite the earth with the rod of His mouth and with the breath of His lips shall he slay the wicked.,” and “these live not again until the thousand years are finished.” Thus the earth, is left desolate during this period. “I beheld the earth, and 10, it was without form, and void; and the heavens, and they had no light. I beheld the mountains, and, 10, they trembled, and all the hills moved lightly. I

beheld, and, 10, there was no man, and all the birds of the heavens were fled. I beheld, and, 10, the fruitful place was a wilderness and all the cities thereof were broken down at the presence of the Lord and His fierce anmade reference to the many theories ‘The whole land shall he desolate; yet will I not make a full end.’ ”

Therefore during this period of time there is no world Utopia, no thousand. years of peace, and no second chance for sinners.

The scriptures very plainly tell us that “when the thousand years are finished Satan is loosed out of his ger. For thus hath the Lord said, brought about by the repopulation of the earth through the resurrection of all the wicked. These Satan marshalls into a great army and in his great deception leads them against the “Beloved City.” the “New Jerusalem.” It is then that “fire comes down from God, out of heaven, and devours them. This is the second death.” In conclusion Mr Parker said that it is in this life man must seek God. “Behold, now is the accepted time, behold now is the day of salvation/’
