Doing A Good Job Eulogistic remarks were made by Mr J. Thorn, M.P., regarding Mr E. W. Gilliver, when speaking at the Coromandel County Council meeting on the subject of fishing and the fisheries inspection. He said that Mr Gilliver was a good man and was doing a great job of work in the matter of conservation of fish in his patrol.

County Accounts Accounts totalling £1432 8s 5d were passed for 'payment at the monthly -meeting of the Coromandel County Council.

County Meeting The chairman, Mr C. 'C. Rae, presided at the April meeting of the Coromandel County Council, others attending (being Crs A. Watkins, J. G. Strongman, H. C. Bull, E. M. Minifie, T. V. Whitte, A. J. Denize, T. E. Simpson, J. E. Jackson, also the county engineer Mr A. H. Benham and the county clerk, Mr J. H. Lucas.

Royalty On Timber A lettei’ was received from the Kauri Timber Company at the Coromandel County Council, stating that 198,243 superficial feet of timber had been carted from Mulholland’s property at Manaia. It was resolved that the account be sent in on the basis of Id per 100 ft. for royalty. Hire Of Grader

An application for the hire of a grader to complete a road which had been made by a bulldozer at Kereta for Mr Douglas was received at the monthly meeting of the Coromandel county council. The application was approved subject to arrangements made with the engineer. Licence for Residential Site

An application for residential site licence was received at the monthly meeting of the Coromandel County Council from Mr. J. A. McNeil. It was proposed and seconded that the application be approved. For Wharf Reserve Account

At the monthly meeting of the Coromandel County Council it was decided, to pay £4OO of wharf moneys into the Wharf Reserve Account.
