NO SERVICE
LARGE DRAINAGE AREA
SHOULD BE IN HAURAKI BOARD
Stating that the ratepayers in the area were not getting satisfactory service, Mr D. G. McMillan suggested at the monthly meeting of the Hauraki United Drainage Board that the northern end of the Thames Valley Drainage Board area near Kerepeehi should be included in the Hauraki United area. There was, he thought, about 1000 acres in the area.
At present, he pointed out, there was no co-operation between the two boards and the settlers suffered accordingly. They drained into the Hauraki United Board’s area without paying anything for the privilege.
The area in question was bordered from the Canal on Wani’s road to Mr J. Young’s boundary. After considerable discussion Mr McMillan was authorised to secure full details regarding area; etc., from the, Thames Valley Drainage Board.
