CHURCH GROUNDS COMMENT BY THE VICAR SHOULD BE KEPT MORE TIDY “ I would like to see the church grounds kept more tidy,” said Canon W. G. H. Weadon at the t annual meeting of parishioners of St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Paeroa, on Monday night. Continuing, he pointed out that the grounds were not a credit to the church and the rough grass and growth looked particularly untidy.
“When I see other- churches, particularly Morrinsville, I feel downhearted,” added Canon Weadon. He explained that he thought that the condition of the ground reflected the interest shown in the church, urging that something be done in the near future. That the church should start a beautifying society to look after the grounds was a suggestion he made to the meeting.
Mr L. G. Cane pointed out that the Paeroa Borough Council looked after the Methodist Church corner.
Canon Weadon replied that he could not understand why the Paeroa Borough Council should look after the grounds of one church and neglect the others. It was decided to leave the matter to the incoming vestry.
Canon Weadon urged that a parking* area be also formed for the users of the Parish Hall.
