WORK DONE BY THE COUNCIL
NO CEMENT NOW AVAILABLE “So. farj 3'2 12in. concrete pipes have been made but we have been unable to carry on with this work owing to the restrictions on the use of cement,” reported the works committee to the monthly meeting of the Paeroa Borough Council. The report continued: — “If the restrictions are eased or lifted it is hoped to be able to make enough pipes to use in the drains in Junction street and King street. “The cement required to complete sufficient pipes for these jobs is approximately 4 to 5 tons. “The corner, of ’ Station road and Thames road has been rounded' off and the new portion kerbed and channelled. The roadway has been sealed one coat only and if weather permits if will be given another coat with Distar.” •
