COMING-OF-AGE PARTY

MR D. SANDERSON HONOURED

JUNCTION ROAD’S RECORD

A very enjoyable party was held at the home of Mr and Mrs W. Sanderson, Junction road, Paeroa, recently, the occasion bein gthe coming-of-age of their only son Donald who at present is a member of a military camp. The evening was spent in games and dancing, some 60 friends being present.

After an excellent supper had been partaken of Mr L. Henwood on behalf of all present congratulated the guest of honour on attaining his majority and asked him to accept the many handsome gifts. Mr W. Sanderson handed his son a large gold-painted key which bore the signatures of all present. Lance-Corporal Sanderson in reply thanked those present for their kindness. In touching on his present camp life he congratulated Junction road on its 1 excellent effort, pointing out that every home in the road had a. representative in the armed forces. The evening was brought to a close with the singing of “For He’s A Jolly Good Fellow,” and “Auld' Lang Syne.” ...
