PLAINS FARMERS’ PROPOSAL
“That in view of the growing importance of Paeroa as a commercial centre the union be asked to contact the Pig Marketing Association with a view to establishing a bacon factory at Paeroa or alternately that an endeavour be made to promote a local bacon curing company and plant,” is a remit to be sent to the New Zealand Farmers’ Union Conference which was passed at the annual meeting of the Netherton branch of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union on Thursday night.
