HOSPITAL CONTRACTS
THE HOSPITAL POSITION
COMMITTEE TO INVESTIGATE
The present conditions regarding foodstuffs was brought home to the Thames Hospital Board yesterday when one of ts contractors, Mr J. Galloway, waited on the meeting to report on supplies. The position since tenders were called early in this year had materially altered, said Mr Galloway, w’ho produced lists of goods which were unobtainable or were procurable only as long as supplies in the wholesalers’ stores lasted.
The board, after hearing Mr Galloway’s report, set up a committee consisting of the chairman, Mr P. E. Brenan, Mr J. W. Dauby and Mr A. G. Davis, to confer on the subject and take any action necessary. Mr C. W. Parfitt held l the opinion that the Health Department should be notified of the lines of goods which the board could not procure. “It should be the Department’s job to see that the hospital boards were able to procure stocks of necessary lines,” he added.
