RUSSIAN THISTLE PRAISED

Russian Thistle, once considered one of the weed enemies of prairie farmers, now gets a pat of praise. And from no less than a United States experimental farm official. The thistle, according to A. E. Palmer, an Assistant Superintendent of the experimental farm at Lethbridge, Alta., has been the second most valuable plant in many districts in checking soil drifting. “Soil drifting would have been 10 0 times as great in many districts had it not been for the Russian thistle.” Mr Palmer said.
