RECENT RATES MAINTAINED. The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Company Limited reports having held its Hikutaia stock sale on Thursday, when a medium entry of cattle was penned. Competition was keen for all classes and recent quotations fully maintained. Quotations : Cattle: Medium fat cows, £7 to £8; lighter, £6 2s 6d to £6.105; light, £4 7s 6d to £5 8s; boner cows, 26s to £4 2s; empty 2-year Jersey heifers to £4 12s; Shorthorn cross heifers, springing, £7 10s to £8 15s; Jersey heifers, springing, £7 to £8 10s; Jersey cows, springing, £6 to £7 15s; Shorthorn cross cows, springing, £8 to £9 ss. Pigs: Store pips 255, weaners 10s to 13s 6d.
