REPRESENTATIVE TEAM NORTH AUCKLAND MATCH FOUR PAEROA PLAYERS IN. The Thames Valley Rugby Union’s fixture against North Auckland to be played on Saturday was originally set down to be played at Paparoa but advice received last week by the acting secretary, Mr AV. D. Nicholas, states that the North Auckland union has changed the venue and the match will be played at Maungaturoto. Arrangements made so far mean that the players will have to leave on Friday afternoon or early in the evening and be accommodated at Auckland or at some point past there. On the Saturday morning they will have only about 60 or* 70 miles to go, and plenty of time for a run when they arrive at Maungaturoto. The only other fixture to be played by the Thames Valley team this year is against Auckland, and this match has been set down to be played at Paeroa on the following Saturday, September 18.

The selector, Mr D. G. McMillan, of Paeroa, has chosen the following team to represent Thames Valley :

Full-back: R. Swann (P). Three-quarters: G. Childs (H.P.), D. Ainslie (AV), G. Johnson (Te A). Five-eighths: G. Clotworthy (P), G. Rae (Te A). Half-back: H. Robinson (P). Forwards: J. Kotara (H.P.), C. Hughes (AV), G. O’Neill (AV), R. Johns (Te A), H. Rowe (Te A), N. Sistersen (Te A), G. Laverick (P), E. Pulman (H.P.).

Emergencies—forwards: A. McDuff (H.P.), J. Beagley (Te A). Backs: J. McConnell (AV).
