GUM BOOTS STOLEN. OFFENCES BY YOUTHS. Two Auckland juveniles, who were to appear in Auckland on a number of charges, left the city and made for Waihi, via the Hauraki Plains. On Saturday night they were overtaken by the dark while on the NgatcaKerepeehi Road, and forcing an entrance into the premises of Mr E. Davis, passed the night there. Mr Davis had gone away on the Saturday afternoon at 4 o’clock and did not return until Monday. He discovered that ji pair of gum boots, and also a length of sash cord, to n total value of £l, were missing. A report to the police was subsequently followed by the arrest of the two youths at Waihi and appearing before the Police Court, were remanded to appeal* in Auckland on Tuesday. Two tool boxes belonging to the tar sealing contractors on the Plains were broken open, though nothing was removed from them, and it is believed that the offence was committed by the same two youths.
