BOWLING & CROQUET.

WAIKINO CLUBS. ON THE GREENS. The official opening of the Waikino Bowling and Croquet Club was held at Waikino on Saturday last. Visitors were present in good numbers from the Waihi, Paeroa, Hikutaia, and Te Aroha Clubs, and the local residents attended to assist in making the opening function a great success. The president (Mr A. J. Southberg) in declaring the bowling and croquet greens opened for the season, stated that the clubs were unfortunate last year in practically having no greens available for play. This season he hoped that the greens would be in good order, thanks to the voluntary work done by the members on the lines as laid down by Mr W. M. Morton, of Hamilton. > Mr Southberg extended to the members of the .Paeroa Club, a cordial invitation to make use of the Waikino green whilst their own green was under repair. During the course of the play afternoon tea was dispensed by the ladies of the Croquet Club and a most enjoyable time was spent.
