Mr A. M. Samuel, M.P., was in Paeroa on Saturday evening. He attended the Orphans’ Club meeting. Constable Dawson, who has been on sick leave for some weeks, resumed s duty at Paeroa on Monday, Constable J Walsh having returned to Waihi the previous Saturday.Mr M. Irwin, who was injured while playing football at Auckland last Saturday week, arrived in Paeroa on Monday on a visit to his parents. Acting upon medical advice, Mr R. Sprague has been reluctantly . compelled to resign from his position as president of the Te Aroha Rugby Union. . Mrs L. Nield and Miss V. Shand, of Paeroa, leave for Auckland on Friday morning to participate in the New Zealand Hockey Association’s Provincial Tournament, which commences on Saturday’next. Mr W. E. Hale, of Kopuarahi, was •declared re-elected to the directorate of the New Zealand . Co-operative . Dairy Co., Ltd., at the annual meeting yesterday. He polled 28,829 votes. Mr F. A. Kneebone, of Horahia, securing •only 1f?,469, and there being 1,083 informal.
