ON THE HAURAKI PLAINS. t KEREPEEHI CLUB’S ACTIVITY. The Kerepeehi Ladies’ Hockey Club is., not perturbed at the absence of a -Hauraki Plains Hockey Association this season and the members are training, steadily in order to make a good showing at the Auckland Hockey Association’s Country Week tournament from July 14 to 19, for which purpose the Club has affiliated direct to Auckland. There are sixteen very enthusiastic members, including, some very promising young players, and, as the internal arrangements are proceeding very smothly, the Club anticipates :• a pleasant season. The Club officials are : President, Mr C. Clifford ; Secretary and Club Captain, Mrs W. Kidd ; Selectors and Coaches, Messrs. S. Collinson and D. Speedy; and Executive Committee, Mesdames Hegh and Senior, and the officers.
Other Plains ’Clubs. Of the other clubs on the Plains, little is heard this season. Most of them appear to be short of tried players, but have numbers of inexperienced members who might develop into good players if there were the encouragement to practise. So far this season the Association has not given any indication of activity. Many of the officers of the past season have, left the district and it is probable that the disputes which characterised the conclusion of last year’s operations. have discouraged the others from taking any further part in the management of affairs. It is understood that the Association was very short of funds last season.
