From Our Own Correspondents TE KAUWHATA. On sth instant the Te Kauwhata Young Men’s Club held its final social evening of the season, in the War Memorial Hall, when they entertained a large number of visitors and friends with dancing, cards and games. The Bridge prizes were won by Mesdames Marshall and Donaldson and the Monte Carlo dance by Miss Potter and Mr Travers. The music for the dancing was supplied by Mr H. Teddy’s radio gramophone and Mrs Johnson, piano. Among those present were: Mesdames R. Pulham, black panne velvet; Travers, black crepe de chine; A. Ryrie, black marocain; Clyde Ballantyne, black and gold; B. A. Board, fawn crepe de chine; F. Wilson, black figured georgette; C. Herring, red crepe de chine and satin; I. Geek, electric blue eourtelle silk; P. Hall, mauve taffeta and lace; H. Dormer, green marocain; N. Stokes, green crepe de chine and silver lace; I. Symes, red floral georgette and tulle; B. Laird, cerise taffeta; K. Furber, green ripple ninon; I. Stokes, flame taffeta; E. Gordon, red taffeta; A. Symes, white georgette; D. Hatfield, pink crepe silk; M. Towler, apricct georgette; Josie Travers, black velvet with pink posy; Una Symes, lemon lace and satin; G. Keith, navy crepe de chine. On Thursday last, 11th instant, the “Star of Waikare” Lodge, 1.0.0. F., held their first annual ball in the Te Kauwhata Hall. The hall was most tastefully decorated with spring flowers and streamers and the supper tables were also decorated with flowers, which gave a gay and colourful effect. There was a large number of guests present and the dancing continued until an early hour in the morning. The music was dispensed by Allan’s orchestra.
