VALEDICTORY
REV. M. C. GIBB. After being in charge of the Knox j Presbyterian Church at Huntly for ! ever five years, the Rev. M. C. Gibb has had to resign on account of his health, and he intends going to Australia, where the warmer climate may assist him to recuperate. A farewell evening was tendered to him recently by members of the church, in the Presbyterian Hail, i where many friends were present, j Ministers frem the churches were alj so present, and each spoke very highi ly of the departing guest, and the harmonious atmosphere in which | they had worked. The Rev. W. Kearney, Presbyterian minister of Pukemiro, presided, and during the even- ! ing musical items were rendered by Mrs. Voltz, Mrs. Auld, Mrs. L. Hall, s Mr. N. Penman, Mr. J. McLuckie, and : Mr. Turner. In making a presentation of a wallet on behalf of the Ladies’ Guild, 1 and a roll of notes from the church | members, Mr. G. A. Shaw spoke with j regret of the departure of the Rev. j Gibb, and of the splendid work he had rendered as minister of the I church. A combined presentation of a handsome leather suitcase was made by Master Ralph Fleming, on behalf of the Sunday School and Junior Bible Class. Rev. Gibb suitably replied and thanked the gathering for its expressions of goolwill. A dainty supper was provided by the ladies. The members of the Senior Bible Class and Presbyterian Church Choir met at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. G A. Shaw, on Wednesday evening last, to bid farewell to Rev Gibb. A very pleasant evening was spent, during which musical items were rendered interspersed with games and coinpetitions.
