CHATHAM CUP. NORTH ISLAND SEMI-FINAL. At a special meeting of the Control Board of the A.F.A. it was unanimously decided to dismiss the protest by Ponsonby against Tramurewa and the latter team will meet the Huntly Thistle in what promises to be the game of the season. Both teams are at full strength, and from all accounts the visitors have a side noted for its combination, but they will find our local boys equal to the occasion. Given a good day, a record crowd is expected. Arrangements are well in hand for the entertainment of the Aucklanders. Two large buses have been commissioned to carry the team and its army of barrackers (it is anticipated that about 80 will make the trip). They will arrive at about midday and will be met by the local officials. After a 1 ight luncheon, the players will adjourn to the old Masonic Halt. The game will commence at 2.30 p.m. in order that extra time be played in the event of a drawn game at the end of the 90 minutes’ play. Mr. J. Wallace will be in charge of the game. After the game, the visitors will he the guests of the local association, the occasion bt*ing a dance and social evening; which will be open to the public. The winners on Saturday will meet the winners of the Petone (Wellington) v St. Andrew’s (Palmerston North) match. Thistle (blue) will be represented i by:—J. Stirling, T. Dodds, A. Black, j D. McLuckie, It. Stirling. J. Tait, T. j Gavin. B. Dodds, A. Wylie, D. Patl ick (capt.), D. Fleming. Reserves: j W. Lindores Team to represent Trkmurewa : Batty. Tinkler, Simpson, Bullock, Christie, Fyffie, Spong, Bell, Spencer, McMillan, Mills. Reserve : Watscn. Glen Massey v Rotowaro. In spite of a strong wind and heavy ground* the fast, interesting and fairly even owing to the wind numerous corners were conceded by both sides, but without result. After 20 minutes play Barlow scored for Rotowaro with a fine shot from 20 yards ont, and just before half time Mclntyre scored for Glen Massey, the spell ending 1 all. On turning over Rotowaro pressed and Caldwell scored, Mclntyre soon after put across a fine centre from which Hunter scored making 2 all. After fairly even play Oliver scored for Rotowaro and this was quickly followed by another goal by Ellis. Oliver again broke through to score for Rotowaro. Glen Massey now took a hand and Mclntyre netted, the game ending . Rotowaro 5, Glen Massey 3. Mr. D. Nelson was referee. For Rotowaro McCallum, Robert- | son, Oliver and Caldwell were outstanding; while for Glen Massey, J. Forrest, full back, McCaig, Sessons, Martin and Mclntyre all played fine games.
