OBITUARY

The deah has occurred of Rev. Charles Connor, Napier, a wellknown minister of the Presbyterian Church in Hawke’s Bay at the ago of 85 years. Mr Connor was born in Liverpool in 1855 and sailed for New Zealand with his 'parents in the- ship Arina, in Nuvembir, 1862, arriving in March of tile following year.

The death occurred at Stratford last week of Mrs Isabella McAllister, who was aged 100 years after a short period of illness. She-was a native of Greenock, Scotland, coining to Dunedin in 1875. Her husband had died in 1880 and she had been a widow for GO years.

Born in Cornwall, he came to New Zealand in 1870. in the ship Queen Bee. He spent about 10 years in the Westport and Greymouth n oal and timber trade. After his retirement, Captain Smith was recalled during the Great War period, and received two \Admiralty decorations for his services.
