At the Methodist Hall last evening the congregation of the Methodist Church and friends gathered in force to bid farewell to Mr and Mrs "Geo. Gilchrist prior to their departure for Greymouth. During the past 11 years Mr and Mrs Gilchrist have been valued members of the congregation and Mr Gilchrist will be especially missed in the Men’s Club and choir. Rev. Halils and* Mr T. W. Dull (Circuit Steward), Mr J. Bain (Returned Soldiers’ Association), Air Higgins (Railway Department), and Mr P. Goodfcllow (choirmaster), spoke eulogising the departing guests, and a presentation of a cheque was made to them. The evening was interspersed with community singing, conipetitons and games, and songs were sung by Mr A. Couch, Air Gilchrist and Aliss L. Knight. \
