COAL STRIKE POSITION

CANBERRA, April 29
The Prime Minister, H.on. R. G. Menzies, has agreed to defer actiop in regard to coal mines until to-iuorrow night. This was after the miners’ delegations had an interview with the Chief Justice of the Arbitration Court. Meanwhile, the War Cabinet has received from Mr Menzies a report on his conference with the miners’ officials, and the Government’s plans are fully prepared in the event of a breakdown in the negotiations.
