HON. R. SEMPLE IN TARANAKI. (Per Press Association—Copyright) H'AWE'RA, September 20: At Hawera last night, the Minister of Public Works (Hon. R,. Semple) .commenced a brief political tour to embrace the lour centres of Taranaki province with an address on the activities of the two Departments in his charge. He illustrated the screening of a film depicting old methods and new. There was an audience of 1000, and, hundreds were turned away. A motion of confidence in Mr Semple as Minister in charge of Public Works, and in Mr Savage as Prime Minister, in the Government and in Labour candidate G. J, Duggan to contest the Patna seat against H. G. Dickie, was carried almost unanimously. Deputations on minor matters were received yesterday afternoon, and this morning the Minister proceeded to Opunake. A civic reception will be tendered to Mr Semple by central Taranaki local bodies to-morrow afternoon at Stratford where he speaks'in the evening, also speaking at New Plymouth on Thursday and 1 returning to Wellington by air on Friday.
