DARING THEFT

HAMILTON, August 25
,A daring theft was. committed at the Te llapa service station, just north of the Hamilton borough boundary shortly after six o’clock last evening. The proprietor, Mr J. B. Elliott, left the station for a few: minutes and went to his home a few yards aw r ay. When he returned he found that the till had been opened, and that the contents, amounting to £2l in notes and silver, had been taken.. The intruder had disappeared and although a thorough search was made, for him by Mr Elliott amJ the police, no trace was found.
It was discovered this morning that Fowler’s Bargain Stores in Commerce Street, Frankton, and the premises of Auto, Replacements, Limited, alsp in Commerce Street, had been entered by forcing the back doors. Nothing was stolen from Auto Replacements, Limited, and as far as could ,be 'learned to-day nothing was missing from Fowler’s Bargain Stores.
