WOMEN’S INSTITUTE.

KOKATAHI ANNUAL MEETING

The annual meeting of the Kokatahi Branch of the Women’s Institute was held in the Public Hall on Thursday afternoon, there being a fair attendance. The balance sheet was read and adopted. Mi’s Cron was re-elected President and Mrs Woolliouse vice-presi-dent. The election of the new seofetarv and treasurer'was held over until next meeting. The committee comprises—Mesdainos O’Reilly, Kemp, Meharry, Kelly, J. Monk, Baird, Fousom and Wieblitz. T’he day of meeting wa s decided for the first Thursday afternoon in the month. It was decided to send £1 to the Dominion Federation Funds, and also to give a donation to the retiring secretary. The roll call was “Something our grandmother did without.” Motto. “Do your best and leave the rest.” The competitions resulted— Six cream puffs, won bv Mrs Kellv, with Mrji Cron 2nd. and Mrs O’Beilly 3rd. Child’s dress, Mrs Wieblitz Ist. Mrs Woolliouse 2nd and Miss Wieblitz 3.

The prizes for most noints for the vear were awarded to Mrs Kellv with 38 noints Ist, Mrs Cron 34 points 2mf, and Mrs Crough 30 points 3rd. An invitation was received from the Koiteramri Women’s Institute to their next meeting which is being held on Monday, March 10th. The dresses from the competition, are to he given to an orphanage. The afternoon was brought to a, close’by a dainty afternoon tea served bv the hostesses Mesdames Woolhouse and Kelly.
