Count Grandi (Italian Foreign Minister) called on Mr R. A. Eden, and delivered II Duc-e’s reply to the British proposals to withdraw volunteers from Spain as a prelude to the opening ot discussions regarding a British-Italian rapprochement.

A communique claims that troops carried out several complementary operations at Palornera, capturing 915 prisoners, including the Commander and nine officers.

POISONING BY MICROBES. AGENT OF FRANCO ARRESTED. LONDON, February 10. The Paris correspondent of the “Daily Telegraph” says the Surete Nationalo alleges that the Marquis etc Portage, a friend of the former King Alfonso, who was arrested at St. Jean de Luz, was organising in France on behalf of the Spanish Nationalists, a number of “executions” by microbe poisoning.
