BISHOP LISTON
RETURNS FROM AUSTRALIA. (Per Press Association —Copyright). AUCKLAND. September 20. Considerable interest which is being taken in Australia in the forthcoming Now Zealand Catholic centenary, was remarked upon by Bishop Liston of Auckland, on return by the Mariposa to-day, alter an absence of lour weeks. He attended the Plenary Council of Australia, and had promised to attend the centenary. Others are coming from the islands, and two well-known oMdosiasTies trom tlm United States, namely, Bishop Murray, of St. Paul, Minnesota, and Bishop Kelly, the distinguished author of Oklahoma. ,•{ •
He expected altogether about 25 prelates will come. The Plenary Coimeil which Bishop Liston attend ;d in Australia, was the first, held in 32 years, the bishops of the two countries meeting in St. Mary’s Cathedral, Sydney, to discuss affairs of the church.
