BOXING
ASSOCIATION ANNUAL CONFERENCE,
The. annual conference of, the New Zealand Boeing Association was held at Grey mouth yesterday, Mr A. Behan presiding over a full attendance of delegates. • The annual report and balance sheet were received and adopted. Various alterations to, the rules wen discussed and dealt with.
The following officers were elected
Messrs A. Beban (Greymouth), and A. F. Stacey (Christchurch).
Appeal’Committee: Messrs C. F. Sanders, a,ml V. R. Meredith (Auckland. re-elected), and Mr E. A. Craig (Auckland). Members of the Council; Messrs J. R. Simpson, E. Blundell, E. A. Da>vson, H. H. Sterling, C.M.G., J. F. B. Stevenson, and Col R. St. Js Beere (Wellington, all re-elected).
Trustees of Insurance Fund: Messrs W. G. Talbot, E. A. Dawson and E. U. Magee (re-elected). Hon. Treasurer: Mr E. A. Dawson (re-elected).
Hon. Auditor: Mr W. G. Talbot (reelected).
Secretary : Mr G. P. Aldridge (re elected).
It was decided to hold next year’s tournament at Gisborne.
THE TOURNAMENT.
The N.Z. boxing championships were commenced in the Town Hall, Greymouth last evening, when there were first class boxing contests. The following were the results:—
Flyweights.—H. Foote (Wellington! 7.1 H beat L. McLaughlan (Manawatu) 7.10. R. Davis (Hawke’s Bay) 7.9 beat T. Hogarth (Greymouth) 7.9. H. Sheridan (Auckland) 7.13 beat J. Thompson (Gisborne) 8.0. Featherweights.—G. Bridge (Wellington) 8.10 beat M. Hunter (Oamaru) B.lls. B. McKay (Hamilton) 8.13$ beat A. Byrne (Hutt Valley) 8.9. K. Moran (Auckland) 8.13$ beat L. Greaney (Otago) 8.It!.
Lightweights.—N. Davey (Gisborne) 9.7$ beat J. Ramsay (Otago) 9.75. J. Collins (Manawatu) 9.(, beat F. Finnigan (Wellington) 9.9. N. Jenkins (Oamaru) 9.9, beat H. Mclvor (Hawke’s Bay) 9.7. P. Kelly (Auckland) 9.2, knocked out R. Tonks (Ashburton) 9,7. T. Whatnoagh (Wanganui) won by default.
Welterweights.—T. Denny (South*land) 10.0, beat J. McCann (Wellington) 10.7. D. Hoeney (Gisborne) 10.3 beat E. Estall (Auckland) 1 0.6. D. McLeod (Rakaia) 10.6, beat J. Davis (Hawke’s Bay) 10.4. Middleweight.—F. Mclvor (Wellington) 11.6, beat S. Sinies (Oamaru) 11.1. Light-heavyweights.—'T. O’Gorma.u (Christchurch) 12,4, knocked out B. Neanie (Southland) 11.7, in the second round. W. Lister (Rakaia) 12.3, beat S. Jones (Taranaki) 12.3.
To-night.
The chamoionships were continued this afternoon and will continue to-night. To-morrow (Saturday) night the tournament will bo brought to a conclusion when the finals will be decided and a full night is assured. There are special train arrangements to-morrow night to .enable southern visitors to witness the full bouts.
FARR’S BREACH WITH MANAGER

NEW YORK, Sept, 8
Rroadribb announced bis severance with Farr. “111-feeling has reached a point where the fighter threatened to punch my nose last Friday,” he said.
The manager added that he had not received his share of the purs*,, which, was 10,000 dollars. He is appealing to the Boxing Commission, and will bring a suit. Ted Broadribb, Farr’s manager has transferred the boxer’s contract, and rights to Babe Culnan, an American, who supervised Farr’s training also Farr’s American management.
Farr is leaving on September 10 on a tour of the Middle West of Canada.
