FELL INTO CREEK. (Pei Press Association—CopyHgL‘6). WHANGAEET. June 4. Mary Drake■ 18 months old, daugh- ' tor of Mr G. E. ; Drake; of Titoki, was drowned in a creek this morning, i The child followed her sister to the road on the way to school and, apparently, unknown to the elder girl, fell off the sill of a wooden bridge across a creek. Fifteen minutes later the : mother saw the child floating on the -surface of the creek. Artificial respiration including an old Maori method of holidng ~fhe child in smoke, failed. ANOTHER FATALITY. CHRISTCHURCH June 4. Valerie Lusk, aged 4, was drowned in S’trowan stream, in St.'Andrews College grounds at noon to-day. She had gone to meet her father, who was coming for lunch on the midday tram, and fell into the creek.' Her parents live in College Avenue, Papanui. I
