A United Press copyright story says: The marriage of Charles Chaplin and Paulette Goddard is confirmed by Randolph Churchill.
Churchill .says: “I am not at, liberty to quote Chaplin directly, but I can definitely say that they were married by the captain of Chaplin’s yacht, the “Panacea.” on June 23, 1934. Both have definite reasons for the maintenance of secrecy. Paulette Goddard told be that she wished to' win film fame on her own account, and not as the.brj.de of a notable.”
