TRAMPING CLUB

THIRD ANNUAL MEETING HELD

The third annual meeting of the Westland branch of the Canterbury Mountaineering and Tramping Club was held last evening in Mclntosh’s Club Rooms.

The following officers were elected:— President, Father R. O’Gorman ; lion, secretary, Mr P. Barnes; committee, Messrs M. Wallace, P. Atkinson, L. Breeze, M. Davidson, F. C. Marshall, F. Pierson.

Regret was expressed at the Club’s loss in the transfer of its initial president (Mr R. C. Drummond) to Oxford, and the transfer of its former energetic secretary, Mr. P. Phipps, to Wellington.

Four new members were elected

A general discussion on the Club’s activities, trips, track clearing, hut maintenance, etc., then ensued; and given fair weather, everything points to an active and successful season.
