THE CORONATION
CANBERRA SETS ASIDE £IOO,OOO
C (BERRA, November D,
Iu the House of Representatives this week £IOO,OOO will be appropriated to meet the expenses of the Commonwealth delegation to the Coronation ceremonies—but the Prime Minister said to-day that no invitation had yet been received. Mr Lyons will be the only Federal Minister officially invited by the Earl Marshall the Earl of Norfolk.
He will thus join the select? band of Dominion leaders who will be une guests of the British Government at all the Coronation ceremonies and. celebrations. ! ' v
Other Ministers will not be far in the background, although their expenses will have to be paid by the Goevrnment:
The Minister for Customs (Mr White), who has iiot had a- trip beyond New Guinea during his long term of office, is a likely choice. The Minister for External "Affairs, Sir George Pearce is - regarded as certain' of selection, but the list will not be announced until the official invitation is received. .
Meanwhile there is intensive lobbying by private members for inclusion in the party of seven which will visit London as guests of the Empire Parliamentary Association. In this section the only certainty Is that there 'will be dozens' of disappointments. The Works Committee is being revived' just in time,--v Hen.
